1. Information We Collect
We collect only the essential details required to deliver student housing discovery, verified agent connections, and roommate matching around FUTO. For Students: name, student email, phone number, department, level, and optional roommate preferences (lifestyle, budget, study habits). For Agents & Landlords: full name, business name, WhatsApp contact number, operational areas, and user ID submitted for our vetting checks.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used strictly to power platform functionality: enabling students to connect with verified agents via WhatsApp, matching compatible students through the roommate noticeboard, calculating reliable Bayesian lodge review ratings (Water, Electricity, Security), and preventing fraudulent listings. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third-party advertisers.
3. Confidentiality of Agent Verification Documents
All identity verification documents (including issued IDs and phone verification records) are treated as strictly confidential. These files are stored securely and accessible only to authorized CampusHub super-administrators for account audit and safety verification. They are never published publicly or shared with outside parties.
4. Public vs. Private Information
Publicly Visible: Lodge listings (photos, video walkthroughs, rent prices, amenities), agent public profiles (name, WhatsApp contact, verified badge, rating score), and published student reviews. For roommate matching, only the information you explicitly include in your roommate request is visible to fellow students. Private: Encrypted account passwords, admin verification records, private notes, and internal security logs.
5. Browser Storage & Local Caching
We use browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) to save your favorited lodges, recent searches, and UI theme preferences directly on your device. This ensures ultra-fast page load times and seamless return navigation without unnecessary server tracking.
6. Data Security & Cloud Infrastructure
CampusHub utilizes industry-standard cloud database infrastructure with SSL/TLS encryption, secure Firebase authentication, and strict role-based access rules. While we implement robust security protocols, interactions conducted off-platform (such as direct WhatsApp chats or physical lodge inspections) are subject to the safety precautions of the involved parties.
7. Data Ownership, Retention & Deletion Rights
You retain full ownership of your data at all times. Students and agents can edit their profile information, update or remove listings, and delete roommate requests at any point.
